Week 42: CARE

Let's take some time this week to show how much we CARE!  We all know life is busy and so many times we forget to take a little time to express how much we care about others.  Mother's Day is coming up.  Father's Day will be here before we know it.  Winter bugs are still biting people.  Life keeps on challenging each and every one of us.  A little happy mail always helps!  Who or what does the word CARE make you think about right now...this very moment?  This week, once you've created your card, place it in an envelope and mail it to someone you know who could use a little extra love sent their way.  If you decide to make a card for an upcoming occasion, be sure and put it in a safe place so you won't forget to mail it on time!

Before we take a look at the inspiration created by the design team, we want to introduce a fantastic new sponsor!

Scrappin’ Great Deals has been providing craft enthusiasts with outstanding scrapbooking and card making supplies since 2004!! What began as an online only store, in owner extraordinaire Scrappin' Sheila's basement, has blossomed into both online ordering and a huge 3400 sqft retail location!! It has certainly surpassed Sheila's wildest dreams!! We are located just outside of London, Ontario, Canada, in the village of Kilworth Heights.

Our Design Team Diva's here at SGD's are as passionate about this amazing hobby as you are! We are YOU and like you, we cannot wait to get our hands on all of the newest products! Whether you are a scrapbooker or a card-maker ... we have the products and classes for you ... from beginner to advanced .... for ages 5 - 125! SGDs has been designed with the goal of providing fellow-crafters (that's YOU!) with the opportunity to shop for great products at amazing prices!

This week's winner and a random participant will each receive a $25 gift card to their online store!  How fun is that?!  Be sure to check out their store!

Now let's take a look at what CARE means to the design team!

design defined:
One little word can have BIG impact!

Jen
design defined:
3 large, centrally placed elements make for a crisp card.

Judy
design defined:
Add color and depth to your CAS card using small embellishments like sequins and pop dots!

Maureen
design defined:
Something as simple as a rounded corner is a nice way to finish off a CAS card.

Meghan
design defined:
Lots of white space is the essence of a clean and simple card.

Melissa
design defined:
Use frames in untraditional ways to add interest to your main image panel.

Rosemary
design defined:
By keeping a limited number of embellishments grouped together and keeping plenty of "white space," you can add an element like distressed edges and still maintain a CAS design.

Tracey
design defined:
A bit of dimension can always add interest to a CAS card.

Now go have fun and don't forget to link up your CARE creations by Sunday at 4:00 p.m. (CDT)!
